San Francisco Symphony Plays The Matrix

On July 27, 2013 the San Francisco Symphony directed by Don Davis played the original score to The Matrix. The coolest part was that they played it while the audience watched the movie on a screen suspended above the musicians.

Granted there were a few times that the music overpowered the dialog, but come on…how many times have you seen The Matrix. I know most of what is being said by heart.

The orchestra was lit with low green lights, adding to the atmosphere.

The audience was a mix of old and young, people dressed up and people in shorts and sandals. Overall the evening was a blast. Definitely a once in a lifetime event.
