While over at England promoting his latest, “Henry’s Crime”, Keanu Reeves, Neo himself, told some British students about meeting with the Wachowskis (the writers/directors of the “Matrix” franchise) and being told that the siblings have written a two-movie treatment for two more “Matrix” films, with Reeves reprising Neo in both films.
A scooper sent this in to AICN:
Says he met the Wachowski’s (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro’s and con’s of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen before. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title “The Matrix” and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first movie.
Wow. Two more “Matrix” movies, possibly in 3D. Not a big fan of 3D, but I am a big fan of the original “Matrix”, and for pure action, the third and last one was pretty action-packed, too. The second one, though? Had its moments (including that insane highway fight), but most of it was so much talk talk talk talk talk talk…
Of course, more “Matrix” movies won’t be forthcoming soon, if they happen at all, given that the brothers are busy with a couple of projects at the moment.
